AAA Festival

Created by and for young people, the annual AAA Festival held at the DWLP celebrates youth arts and culture with a weekend of performances, exhibitions, films and workshops aimed at 13 to 19 year olds.

With the aim of engaging young people from across East Sussex, the festival offers opportunities to participate in top quality, innovative arts activities.

Organisers work with a range of key partners to deliver the project, including local authorities, cultural and youth organisations across the county.

Those who came along to the AAA Festival 2010 enjoyed art, music, dance, fashion, animation, t-shirt making, graffiti, films and could even make a contribution to a giant canvas!

"I really enjoyed the AAA festival and I will come along next year. I was part of the film crew and have found it to be a brilliant experience to interview and film people" AAA participant

We are now looking forward to 2012 AAA Festival, for futher information contact Natalie Trimby, Learning Coordinator on 01424 229 103 or email natalie.trimby@dlwp.com

Aims of the AAA Festival:

  • To incorporate a broad range of art forms, taking inspiration from the DLWP's programme.
  • Developing an off-site programme of outreach projects around East Sussex in the year leading up to the festival.
  • Ensuring all young participants play a key role in the development and delivery of the festival.

The AAA Festival is led and coordinated by the DLWP Arts Ambassadors, an on-going youth arts group created to support the next generation of young artists and arts leaders aged 14-21. Members have the opportunity to complete their Arts Awards.
