Have just come back from a day out in Hastings with my mum and have had a very pleasant experience at the the De La Warr restaurant. The views were amazing despite the rainy, foggy weather and the staff were attentive and always smiling. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

We have visited and eaten at all the major uk arts centres , but the best food is here. - Fresh and well presented - Well done.

The best coffee in town.

Time Out says...
The De La Warr Pavilion's suberb British and European seasonal dishes are served by a young, speedy waiting team. The menu changes daily, but delicately flavoured fish dishes such as lemon sole with ginger roast potatoes, steamed pak choi and lenongrass, are winners. Enjoy magnificent sea views while you eat.  Bella Todd, Time Out, 6-12 May 2010

What better setting than Bexhill's seafront? And therefore what else to eat but fish and chips - but the best ever fish and chips with home-made chunky sauce tartare and a far too small portion of crushed peas to die for! The home-made ice-cream (well it is the seaside!) was stunning. Make sure you get a window table though. It would have been frustrating to be further back in the restaurant. Booking through toptable gives you the edge. Literally!!

Popped in for a quick late lunch on Easter Sunday unsure what to expect. Obviously the De La Warr Pavilion is a miracle restored and has raised Bexhill's profile dramatically. The restaurant clearly throws down a challenge to every other local eating place and everyone will be the better off as a result. We only had two dishes: superbly cooked salmon on a bed of linguine in a light fishy sauce enlivened with fresh peas and tiny pulses. I'd expected a traditional pasta dish with a salmon sauce so was surprised and delighted. Wife had panfried cod wrapped in parma ham with beautifully cooked vegetables which put to shame what the highly rated Mirabelle in Eastbourne served up in an otherwise excellent meal the night before. Excellent sparkling wine served in 125 and 250 cl glasses -- the latter cost little more than the third of the whole bottle cost!!! Will return for the full menu as soon as possible.

The food is outstanding most of the time, highlights are the Risottos, particularly one that was served in an individual parmesan Basket. You can get a very good Roast on Sundays ( through the winter at least ) , they appear to make the most of local ingredients and that includes wines too.

"As well as being a superb arts venue, the Pavilion also boasts a gleaming modern cafe, serving great coffee, sandwiches made with locally sourced goodies, freshly baked cakes and savoury scones."

Waitrose Review

"...the food is local and organic, and it's pretty good too. I enjoy a parsnip soup with warming cinnamon, the prelude to a cracking Sunday roast of pork, featuring a chunky apple sauce and (unusually these days, I find) decent roast potatoes."

The Times Review

"County specialities on the menu includes Rye bay scallop salad; Southdowns lamb chops; Harveys beer battered fish & chips and Sussex pond pudding; the cafe serves a selection of muffins, homemade cakes and a mean brew."

"Lunchtimes are lively affairs with a brisk trade and a buzzing atmosphere. Head Chef Peter Zimoch prepares cuisine which is basically British-based with European influences, the food is imaginative, with intelligent use of fresh ingredients."
