Everything Flows – The art of getting in the zone
A series of artists’ films exploring the notion that considers the state of being ‘in the zone’ - the way in which athletes achieve a heightened sense of performance in which body and mind are operating in unison, at maximum impact and with optimum ‘flow’. Artists are Dryden Goodwin, susan pui san lok, Roderick Buchanan and Matthew Cornford & David Cross.
A Film and Video Umbrella exhibition supported by The Wellcome Trust.
Sean Dower is known for employing diverse media to produce physically engaging, site-specific projects. He has been presenting sculpture, photography, video, sound and live-performance internationally for over 20 years. For this exhibition Dower will construct a discrete, coherent space where objects, structures, images and performance interact in the production and modification of sound.
There will be a performance by Sean later in the afternoon. Visit www.dlwp.com for up to date details.
First Floor Foyer
A Roman Bronze of Hercules, dated from the first century AD and on loan from the British Museum, is displayed on a plinth in our foyer. Hercules is said to be the founder of the Olympic Games and is therefore fitting to be on display during Summer 2012.
