Spotlight on Creative Careers was a collaboration between Culture Shift and DLWP, designed to open up creative careers for young people. Organised by Culture Shift and offered to schools as part of the new East Sussex Careers Hub programme, the event brought together 60 students from Uplands, St Catherines College and St Richards to introduce pathways into roles in the creative industries and media.

The event was delivered in two parts. Firstly, a Creative Café in the DLWP studio where students got to meet five creative professionals and find out about their worlds of work. Secondly, a session meeting different members of the DLWP team and getting an insight into the variety of roles required to deliver events, exhibitions, workshops and more.

Creative professionals represented career pathways such as opera/performance (Ruth Evans and Chris Stones from Glyndebourne), photography (Carlotta Luke), graphic design (Clare Playne, Playne Design), museums (Charlotte Moon, Hastings Museum) and broadcasting (Tony Dillon), as well as talks with DLWP team members Ashley McCormick and Sally Ann Lycett.
