A new dance and cello performance for babies 0 – 12 months and their carers.
‘A Dance for Us’ is a restorative, immersive experience where carer and baby can be soothed and inspired, celebrating the unique relationship forged in the first year of life. Experience the magic of live cello alongside playful movement and come together with others who have had similar recent shared experiences.
Prior to the performance, there will be the option to take part in a short restorative movement session as a way to arrive in the space, connect with your babies and also perform movements that we often do in isolation at home with others experiencing similar things to them.
“Engaging, moving, welcoming, sweet, tender, caring. I was moved to tears in the collective slow dance. It touched me deeply.”
This work was developed in collaboration with babies and their carers. The show has gentle references to pre and postpartum experiences.
“He is only 10 weeks old so I didn’t expect him to ‘focus’ on what was happening but I was surprised by how engaged he seemed.”

Funded by Arts Council England. Supported by Spun Glass Theatre and Brighton Dome.
Please book one free ticket for every attendee, adults and babies.
