Colourful abstract wooden art pieces are mounted on a white wall, showcasing diverse shapes and vibrant patterns in a playful and creative display.

Over the past few months, local artist Sam Ayre has led a series of workshops with members of the local community, creating abstract paintings, drawings and small sculptures using paper and wood.

Inspired by the wooden sculptures and wall-based works created by Betty Parsons in the Sheer Energy exhibition, the artworks explore how feelings and emotions can be expressed through colour, shape, and form.

Together, these works create a collaborative landscape made up of shared ideas, memories, and imaginative responses.
