Step inside Jaki Irvine’s installation SSH OW and become part of a live, improvised sound performance.
Led by sound artist and improviser Tullis Rennie, this unique event invites you to explore the artwork through experimental sound-making and graphic scores, responding to the space in real-time.
What is a Graphic Score?
A graphic score is a way of writing music using pictures, shapes, and symbols instead of traditional music notes.
Here is an example of graphic score from Tullis Rennie:
Musicians and performers look at the image and decide how to play sounds in a creative and flexible way, making each performance unique.
It allows for open interpretation by performers and is often used in experimental and improvised music to encourage creative expression.
This session is open to all, no experience needed – just bring open ears and a sense of play.
Free, no booking required.
