A textured woven artwork hangs with black straps and frayed edges. It features vertical slits and dark fringe below, exuding a rustic, handcrafted vibe. "Art Sundays" logo in the top corner.

Join us for our next Art Sundays in the Rooftop Foyer, inspired by How Many Fires, How Many Suns, How Many Dawns by artist Sayan Chanda.

Drop in and create your own small hanging forest guardian using a wide selection of colourful fabric offcuts, kindly donated by a local fabric store. Inspired by the soft, protective forms in the exhibition, you can design something to watch over a space of your own.

This workshop is a little experimental, there will be some cutting and sewing involved, so it may be better suited to older children. One of our volunteers will be bringing a sewing machine to help stitch larger pieces together, but most of the making is hands-on, using simple materials, your imagination, and your own way of designing.

If sewing isn’t your thing, you can also use clips and pegs to build your piece in a quicker, more playful way.

It’s free, drop-in, and open to all ages, with younger children encouraged to take part with adult support. Just come along anytime between 2–4.30pm in the Rooftop Foyer and make something strange, soft, and protective to take home with you.

What are Art Sundays?

Art Sundays are free drop-in creative workshops that take place on the first and third Sunday of every month, open to all ages.

Each week, the workshops will be led by an artist taking inspiration from our exhibitions programme.

You can find Art Sundays normally in the Rooftop foyer from 2pm – 4.30pm.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Art Sundays have been kindly supported by the Isabel Blackman foundation.
