FREE NHS Health Check
One You East Sussex will be offering FREE NHS Health Checks at the DLWP Health & Wellness Event on Wednesday 6th May. Please note these must be pre-booked
An NHS Health Check is a free, 40-minute check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74 designed to assess the risk of developing conditions like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, and dementia. It involves simple tests (blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI) and lifestyle advice to help prevent these conditions.
To receive an NHS Health Check, you must meet the below eligibility criteria:
- Must be aged 40-74 years old
- Must be a resident of East Sussex
- Must NOT be taking medication to manage blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, kidney disease, atrial fibrillation
- Must NOT be diagnosed with heart disease, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, kidney disease, or previously had a heart attack, stroke and/or TIA
- Must NOT have had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years
