SEATING INFORMATION: If you are coming to a seated event, you will notice that we have temporary seats in the stalls. This is because we have started early preparatory works on the auditorium as part of our bigger capital project (https://www.dlwp.com/luf/). Major works are still some time off, and you will see that our programme runs well into 2025, but we will keep everyone updated on the next stages of the project as soon as we can.
ABOUT
Hastings Sinfonia and friends are delighted to present their annual Christmas Concert of festive music and dance that features the singers of St Richard’s Catholic College choir and dancers of East Sussex School of Performing Arts.
Expect traditional, much-loved favourites like Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, Prokofiev’s atmospheric Troika and Strauss’ Tales from the Vienna Woods, while music from the films Elf and Wallace and Gromit will bring a smile to your face.
The talented youngsters of St Richard’s Catholic College will perform Schubert’s Holy, Holy, Holy and an incredible rendition of O Come, O Come Emmanuel. East Sussex School of Performing Arts will treat you to a stunning performance of Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker Suite.
We look forward to performing Cantilena and Sicilian Waltz from our founder Polo Piatti’s Old World Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, which showcases his expressive range and gift for melodic storytelling. Conducting is Derek Carden, whose warmth and asides to the audience make for a joyous, concert experience.
