Flyer for a public meeting titled 'Devolution: What's it all about?' on Saturday, September 27th, 10am-1pm at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea. Representatives from local councils and boards will attend. Background features colourful waves in blue, pink, and green.

With representatives from East Sussex County Council, Rother District Council, Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council and the Neighbourhood Board.

The English Devolution White Paper, published on 16 December 2024, set out the government’s vision for simpler local government structures. Simpler structures can lead to better outcomes for residents, improved local accountability, and savings which can then be reinvested in public services. East Sussex is set to be affected by these changes via Local Government Reorganisation.

The meeting will aim to answer the following questions:

  • When will Local Government Reorganisation take place, and how will this affect businesses and organisations in Bexhill-on-Sea?
  • How will different authorities work together to make this transition as smooth as possible?

This is your chance to hear from Councillors and local representatives from across the area. There will also be a roving microphone for questions from the floor. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
