Multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, DJ Yoda will perform outside the De La Warr Pavilion for a unique event to launch the new Debut programme created by #1066MusicCity. This is your chance to support emerging, fresh local bands while enjoying one of the top DJs in the country. At sunset he will start his stunning pioneering AV set with visuals being projected on the south wall of the Pavilion. Not to be missed!

DJ Yoda is a multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, headlining festivals and clubs around the  world. No typical club DJ, his interests lie in finding fresh and unique ways to bring turntables out of the club and getting involved in bespoke collaborations. Working with classical composers to neuroscientists; brass bands to film directors; Dr Dre to Dame Evelyn Glennie; Banksy to Mark Ronson; BBC Radio4 to the BFI, he reinvigorates his craft with wry invention and humorous intent.

Debut is a new annual programme that supports emerging musicians from the local area to offer them performance and development opportunities, including local studio time to record a track.

Year one kicks off with workshops for five artists this August and an opportunity to perform on the De La Warr Pavilion terrace supporting DJ Yoda on Saturday 1 September. Each artist will also get the chance to record a song in Curve Pusher studios over autumn and finally have the opportunity to perform at Under the Radar as Part of Part of Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival in March 2019.
