In this workshop, led by Rebecca Kosick participants will learn about Hélio Oiticica's relationship with poetry, and experiment with writing and art making.
Through collage, sculpture, and text(ile) art we will explore how tools like ekphrasis and intermedia translation can build links between verbal and visual modes of expression.
Rebecca Kosick is Senior Lecturer in Comparative Poetry and Poetics at the University of Bristol, and co-director of the Bristol Poetry Institute. She is editor/translator of Hélio Oiticica: Secret Poetics (Winter Editions and Soberscove Press 2023) as well as author of Material Poetics in Hemispheric America (Edinburgh 2020) and the poetry collection Labor Day (Golias Books 2020).
