Meet The Artists

SONGER

SONGER one of the most talked about names in the UK rising scene right now. He has recently collaborated with UK titans Chase & Status & Becky Hill, sold-out headline tours in less than 24 hours, had his music praised across national radio and press (BBC Radio 1, NME, Evening Standard, The Independent, Clash Magazine), and played his biggest home town stage at Reading festival.

Releasing his latest body of work earlier this year, “SKALA”, the album quickly shot to number 1 in the Official UK Charts for Hip-hop / R&B releases, number 1 in the iTunes hip-hop charts, and number 4 in Spotify’s album charts.

Formerly known for his BL@CKBOX performance, which still stands as their most watched session on the channel, SONGER has unquestionably made his presence known for a multitude of other reasons over the past 12- months.

Songer is making his way to the top as his latest single ‘Toxic’ over the legendary Britney instrumental is making its way up the charts and landing his first solo top 40.

Nerina Pallot

Nerina Pallot signed to Polydor Records and released her first album in 2001, however it is  2006’s critically acclaimed LP ‘Fires’ which drew comparisons with Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos—spawning hit singles ‘Everybody’s Gone to War’ and ‘Sophia’, plus Brit and Ivor Novello nominations.

Having built a devoted live following, Pallot’s rich back catalogue describes an artist carving her own path, while her most recent album, ‘Stay Lucky’, finds her exploring the human heart in all its fragility. Meanwhile, she has lent her distinctive vocals to ‘Circus’ and ‘Lockdown Dublin’ from Amazon’s ‘Modern Love’ and her version of ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ featured on the BBC/RTE hit TV series, ‘Normal People’. As well as a sell-out show at the London Palladium in April 2024 has seen the reissue of ‘Fires’.

We are thrilled Nerina Pallot is joining us for JackoFest—especially as she is playing Latitude on the same day. Thank you, Nerina!

Erin Bloomer

English/Irish pop sensation, Erin Bloomer has been hugely tenacious from a young age. The East Sussex and London based singer-songwriter had success with her breakup-song f u & f her too, receiving millions of views from fans who resonated with Erin’s candour and diaristic writing style.  Aged 18y she was scouted by top producers Rasster and Imanbek to voice their SAD xxx remix, which now has an astonishing 170 million streams.  With a captivating, silky, layered voice, she opened the show for N-Dubz during their summer 2023 tour in Brighton and Margate, garnering huge support from online and hardcopy music publications.  And if her voice already sounds familiar, it could be because she can be heard every day on national radio, singing the power intros on BBC Radio 1.

Jack Valero

Born in London and based in Brighton, Jack Valero straddles continents infusing classic, old school British song-writing with a timeless American rock, creating a transatlantic indie-rock mash-up. With lyrics mixing inward retrospection and confronting the world’s state of affairs, Jack zones in on the gaps between light and dark, infusing his songs with ‘melodies that hook in your head and heart ‘ (The Line Of Best Fit).

Jack and his band are in a lane of their own with a hint of Tom Petty and ‘Feels of classic Elvis Costello… (Chris Hawkins BBC 6 Music).

Theo Sawyer

Born and raised in New Zealand, Theo Sawyer is a London-based musician and producer with a dynamic sound, pairing modern pop-rock and alternative soundscapes with honest, emotionally intelligent lyrics and storytelling.

Theo’s debut single, ‘Forget Your Ex’, was a post-break-up anthem dedicated to those who want to put the past behind them, while the follow-up, ‘Love Drunk’, speaks to the euphoria and uncertainty of new love. The raw piano ballad ‘Download A Ghost’ explains how quick and easy dopamine hits often feel better than looking inward… Theo’s fourth release is the ‘situationship’-inspired story ‘Get Together (Lonely)’.

2024 will see exciting new music and live performances from Theo Sawyer and we’re delighted he’s found time to join us at JackoFest. Welcome, Theo!
