Recorded over a 12 month period ‘The Dreaming Room’ is an expansion of what was an already captivating sound. The heavenly vocal layering, the unexpected, complex diversions and the grandeur are still all there but now with the addition of buzzy analogue synths and electric guitar lines. If Laura’s debut album, ‘Sing to The Moon’ was the sound of a young artist honing her craft, then ‘The Dreaming Room’ can be described as the sound of a confident and accomplished lyricist; still reflecting her distinctive, signature sound, but showing the progression of an artist who has truly come into her own.
Upon its release in 2013, ‘Sing to The Moon’ quickly became a firm favourite amongst both critics and fans-alike, establishing the Birmingham-native as one of the UK’s most promising musician’s, and propelling what would later become her distinct and signature sound overseas; eventually catching the attention of the prestigious BET awarding body, who went on to nominate her for ‘Best International Act’.
Oliver released his first album titled “kilowatt” in 2006, which put the artist known as ‘Olivier Daysoul’ on the map within the underground electro-hip-hop scene. Simultaneously, Olivier began receiving numerous requests from producers to feature as a vocalist.
He went on to receive significant international attention for his work as a featured singer/songwriter. This momentum pushed Olivier in 2010 to take the leap and pursue music full time. He worked and toured worldwide with various artists including Hudson Mohawke, Oddisee, the C2C Dj’s, and many more. Despite all of this, Olivier felt something was missing… A true reflection of his own voice and sound.
