Are you interested in finding out more about the De La Warr Pavilion’s place in Bexhill’s history? Want to try your hand at archiving? Perhaps you have a memory, photo or programme from the DLWP to share?
Come along to explore some De La Warr Pavilion gems from Bexhill Museum’s stored collections and help to build up a fuller picture of all that has happened in this iconic building across the decades. The sessions will include:

Discover old copies of the Bexhill Observer and help to find and photograph DLWP event listings – what other local gems from the past will you spot?
● Meet the archive
Explore a selection DLWP programmes, photos and other highlights from the stored collections.
● Were you there?
We’d love to hear your stories and see any photos or memorabilia – bring them along to add to our new People’s Pavilion digital archive.

Sessions:
Session 1 – Saturday 1 March, 11am-12.30pm
Session 2 – Saturday 1 March, 2-3.30pm
Spaces are free but limited – please book in advance.
This event is suitable for ages 16+ plus children aged 11-15 (must be accompanied by an adult).
Light refreshments will be provided.
Free entry into the Museum on the day is included in your ticket.
The event takes place at Bexhill Museum , Egerton Road, Bexhill – just 5 minutes walk from the De La Warr Pavilion.

This taster event is part of the development phase of the De La Warr Pavilion’s Transforming Heritage: Community, Creativity and Skills project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. For this project, in partnership with Bexhill Museum, we want to collaborate with local people to explore the DLWP’s history from different perspectives, record memorable moments for posterity and create a new, accessible digital archive.
