Kioko are a group of like-minded artists with big personalities who started their musical journey as boys in music class at school. Made up of a range of personalities. Lead vocalist Matt Doyle; Jon Brown, the bands guitarist; Ben Torrens the bass player; Tom Collins on drums; Ewan Whyte and Laurence Taylor both have the role of trumpet player/vocalist; Josh Wilkinson plays the trombone. An eclectic mix of talent use of live instruments has encouraged them to develop their unique fusion of soulful pop, reggae and jazz. Following the release of the True What You Say EP, multi-cultural Birmingham band, KIOKO get set to release their follow up “Let’s Be Frank”. As well as being solid in the studio Kioko pride themselves on giving a high standard of lively and memorable shows with high adrenalin and energetic performances set to win over audiences old and new.
Greg Phizacklea made his first mixtape at 15. Put his first club night on the next year in Cambridge with 100 people in the building and this summer he’s organising Toots and The Maytals at Alexandra Palaces 10000 capacity Great Hall. Along the way the way he’s DJ’d an eclectic mix of styles in an eclectic mix of venues; beach parties and boat parties, The Roundhouse, Somerset House, Soho House and his Mums house, Village Underground, Village Fairs and countless clubs around the country as well as in Los Angeles. He ran the Electric Ballroom in Camden for 5 years and has more records than he knows what to do with.
