POETRY WORKSHOP: 11am – 12.30pm
POETRY PERFORMANCE: 2pm – 2.45pm
Suitable for 16+ years

A poetry and paper boat making workshop inspired by Zineb Sedira’s exhibition Can’t You See the Sea Changing? led by writer and director Frances Viner.

Through your writing you will explore the exhibition themes of borders, crossings and journeys, all of which are an inherent part of our lives, whether subtle or dramatic. Our ‘borders’ ask the question “what do we take with us and what must we leave behind?”

Please bring a favourite poem which you would like to have with you on a ‘crossing’ wherever it takes you physically or emotionally and  the materials that you prefer to write with.

In the afternoon you are invited to share your poems, written individually and as a group, in the gallery, which will be open to the public. Find out more here.

Rachel Marsh, writer and Gallery Assistant has written a poem “Swallow the Poison”, inspired by the exhibition. You can read the poem, and an interview with Rachel, on our blog here.

Concessions refer to Senior Citizens and Students.
