An installation of soundings from The Stade, Hastings, made on walks exploring and listening to aspects of boundaries, borders and liminality, found at this location.
The Stade is an area of Hastings where several communities intersect; a complex and diverse space where the land meets the sea, where industry meets recreation, where fishing workers, other locals and visitors coincide yet rarely connect. This piece invites an examination and connection of these intersections through sound.
This recent work serendipitously connects with and reflects a number of the sites depicted in Laetitia Yhap’s exhibition An Ending To A Beginning in the First Floor Gallery.
