From Lorraine Bowen –

“Well I was bowled over by the standard of singing by Bexhill and surrounding areas at my West Side Story singing workshop on Saturday 6th July.

I never really know who is going to turn up but Bexhill didn’t disappoint. Women and men gathered together to sing, celebrate and gush at the fabulous melodies rhythms and complex harmonies of Bernstein and his lyricist Sondheim. We covered advanced techniques such as staggered breathing, visualisation of high notes being low, diction and animation and the crowd on the cafe balcony of the De La Warr roared with delight after joining in with the stamping and clapping to America. Bernstein would have been proud!”
